It's the better way to arrive in the town without problems of traffic. In fact the railway station of Bolzano is very central, few minutes away from historical centre.

By plane
The airport is outside Bolzano, in the south town.

By car
Highway A22 Brennero - Modena, exit Bolzano South or Bolzano North.
State road SS 12 (from Trento to Brennero).
State road SS 38 (from Passo Resia).

The Euro is the official currency. In general the most important shops, hotels and restaurants accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Carta Si, Diner's Club credit cards, while the travellers cheques can be exchanged with ease in the large cities, not so in the smaller towns.

The temperate climate is mild due to southwesterly winds and the Gulf Stream. Summers are warm, while temperatures during winter are much cooler with snow falls. Spring and autumn are mild. Rain falls all year.

Bolzano is in the southernmost Italian-speaking town and in the northernmost German-speaking town. This blend is its main feature and it allowed Bolzano to become the meeting-place of two different worlds, the Latin world and the German world. This can be a very rewarding experience for the visitor.
